The bold & the bright: paint & lighting – Spring ORC Week 5
Can you believe it’s week FIVE already?? Friends….we’re in the Endgame now. See what I did there?? LOL, not to worry – this is a spoiler free zone. 😉 But seriously….we’re down to the wire with our powder room makeover and with the addition of a little paint & lighting, I don’t think I could be more excited with how things are shaping up!
When we started this project we decided to call it a “sleek & striking” powder room makeover. Well this week, the space is definitely beginning to live up to it’s name.
For starters…we have black walls!!!!!
And they couldn’t be more stunning. Kes and I have wanted to paint a wall black for quite some time. I do have to say though that I was initially a bit nervous when we chose the powder room. As much as I had faith that it was going to look incredible, there was also that nagging feeling of
It’s such a small room….what if it’s too dark?? What if it looks like a cave & we hate it??
But sometimes you have to just go with your gut. After all, it’s only paint right? Nothing that a little extra time & another gallon can’t fix.
And I’m so glad that we went for it!
To my surprise, the space actually feels bigger now (though it’s a little tough to see that in photos.)
This week we also installed new lighting which we were fortunate enough to have sponsored by Kichler Lighting. You might remember that we installed Kichler lights in Kash’s bedroom and couldn’t have been more happy with them. When the opportunity arose for us to work with them again we didn’t hesitate.
I’m in LOVE with this Roswell 3-light pendant we chose.
We opted to install it as a semi-flush mount since we only have an 8 ft. ceiling height in the powder room and it’s perfection.
We also chose the matching Roswell sconces.
Don’t they just provide the loveliest warm glow against the shiplap??
I also love that little hint of gold you get from the inner highlight of the rings. It’s going to be a beautiful compliment to our faucet once we get it installed.
It’s amazing how just changing paint & lighting can completely transform the feel of a space! Things are really shaping up now and I can’t wait to see it all come together!!
As always, before we go let’s check in with our trusty “to-dos”. It’s funny, every time we look back at the list, it magically seems to get longer, LOL! #renoproblems. Oh well…one last look, here we go…
