The window install: Going up in a ‘glaze’ of glory

Categories: Construction - Tags: , , , , ,

Remember how excited we were when our windows finally arrived?? Well now we’re even more excited (if that’s even possible) because the windows are being installed and they’re even sexier than we imagined they would be! That’s right I said sexy…and I’m talking about windows. Have a look at the pics below and try to argue with me…

Window install almost complete

Window install almost complete. TyPar house wrap in progress

Along with the window install, the crew is hard at work turning the house into a giant Home Depot ad prepping the house for the exterior cladding – which we’ll cover in a few upcoming posts…I’m thinking this calls for another edition of Design Week. ;)

Oh my how I LOVE those dark windows! We were so close to doing this colour but opted not to because they windows we wanted came in a brown/black colour and I wasn’t sure how that would look. I cannot wait to see how your outside façade looks!

Thanks Dani! We actually went back and forth on the colour A LOT! We knew we wanted black for the interior, but were worried it’d be too harsh with the exterior colours we chose – kinda like a girl with too much eye makeup, you know? In the end we opted for a 2 colour process & chose a custom paint colour for the exterior that we thought would work best. It cost us a little more – but seeing it now we’re SO happy we decided to splurge for it.

I love that you guys have a lot of light coming in. That’s something that sold me on our home – a big huge south facing window to let in lots of light. Can’t wait to see this whole thing done!

A tiny bit jealous of all those windows! We have a fair amount, but the covered deck covers up most of the natural light in our home.
