The final push: Family room makeover (ORC Week 5)
It’s week 5 of our 6 week family room makeover for the One Room Challenge and I’m officially freaking out! Reveal day is exactly 7 days away and there are still SO many things we have to cross off our to-do list to bring our vision for the family room to life. If you’re just joining us for the first time and want to get caught up you can check out our previous posts for this round of the One Room Challenge below:
Alright, so now that you’re all up to date, let’s get into it. This week I finally buckled down and spent some time on our occasional chairs. If you remember, these were a $20 roadside find that were in decent condition, but definite need of a refresh. A little sanding, some fresh stain and a lovely new fabric and they’re looking SO much better!
I managed to get one of the two chairs complete. My mission over the next day or so is to tackle the second chair.
Kes and I also made some progress on the media wall, and it’s really starting to come together! We got the wood panel hung (we still need to take it back down to stain it) and our tv mount installed. I’m SO excited for you to see the finished product next week!
We took on a lot for this project and even though we’ve accomplished a fair bit over the last 5 weeks there’s still some work to do. Let’s take a quick look back at our list:

Yikes! Putting it all down in black & white probably wasn’t a good idea because now I’m feeling even more stressed than I was before. And with that I’m gonna wrap this up because CLEARLY we need to get back to work.
Don’t forget to along with our progress over on Instagram this week as we’ll be posting some behind the scenes pics and maybe even a sneak peek or two in an Insta-story. Also be sure to head over to Calling It Home to see all the last minute preparations from the official ORC participants as well as the rest of us guests in the link up!
Ohhh, that media wall is going to look fantastic! Best of luck on this final ORC week, I love seeing all of the transformations!
Ohhhhh no what happened with the coffee table out come? None the less, it’s all going to look great!
I went back to all your previous blogs and looks like you are going to make a beautiful transformation.
