Meet Team Dreamhouse
First off, let us introduce ourselves. We’re Kes & Tash and this is our son, Kash (yes, so named because we think he’s the perfect mix of the 2 of us).

This blog will be the place for all our adventures along the road to building the home we’ve always wanted – our Dreamhouse Project.
Here’s the heart of the matter. We both grew up in the suburbs. So ultimately, after we got married we knew that it was where we wanted to settle to raise our family. The only problem being, we’re also both creative professionals who are hopelessly in love with the ‘urban contemporary loft aesthetic’. Something that, at least in our neck of the woods, generally only comes with inner city living – downtown core, smaller square footages, minimal outdoor living space, higher purchase prices, etc.
Enter the dream. 3 years after setting up shop in the ‘burbs’ we sold our home. Toddler in tow, we moved back in with the parents and set out in search of the perfect property. Our plan was to take the sleek, contemporary open concept loft aesthetic, and bring it to a neighbourhood in the suburbs – one where we can have a 4 bedroom, two storey home, get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and have a sprawling outdoor living space for our family to enjoy! A space where we can have a big backyard for family barbecues in the summer, and a place for our son to enjoy his childhood.
We enlisted the help of Kevin of KW Design (who just so happens to be Kes’s incredibly talented brother) to not only design us the perfect home, but to help us manage the entire project.

We also brought in Lisa Lev Design to help us bring our vision to life. An ambitious undertaking – YES, but we knew we were up to the challenge!

We hope you’ll come with us for the ride, and any bumps we hit along the way will only help you with your project….or at least give you a good laugh!
If you have any questions about our blog or any part of our project, have a product or service you’d like to recommend, or just want to say hello, please contact us. We’d love to hear from you! We’ll do our best to get back to you, however due to the volume of requests, we apologize that we can’t respond to all – though we do read every single one.
Cheers!
Tash & Kes
