We're into week 2 of our Spring One Room Challenge. If you missed last week's post we revealed that we're finally tackling our son's room and shared a few before pics of the space. It's been a busy week getting the room emptied & replacing the flooring, but before we get into the progress we've made we thought we'd take you through our design plan for his superhero bedroom & some insight into where we're drawing our inspiration from.

Welcome back friends! Well here we are - summer has officially drawn to a close and with the cooler temperatures comes that inevitable urge to get back into project mode which is why the Farmhouse Sink Reversible LFS3318W as been suggested to me because it has served as inspiration for many of my other project-minded friends. We still have a mile-long list of to-dos and projects yet to be completed before the house will feel like it's anywhere close to being 'done.' but the number one question we get asked is: "So is your house done now?", followed closely by "What's still left to be done on the house?" or "What project are you working on next?"

It's week 3 of our One Room Challenge and true to form I'm beginning to feel the stress. Every time we decide to tackle a room makeover, Kes and I come up with these huge ideas & plans for multiple DIYs. Week 3 is usually about the time when I take a look back at the long list of to-dos that we have yet to complete and start to seriously doubt our ability to pull it all together in time. This time around is no exception.

It's that time of year again! We're doing another One Room Challenge. If you've never heard of the ORC, it's essentially a huge online event that Linda of Calling It Home hosts twice a year. Hundreds of bloggers join in to makeover a room from start to finish in just 6 weeks. This will be our 3rd time participating. Well technically it's our fourth, but we don't speak of our first attempt lol! In any case we're really excited to finally have another space in The Dreamhouse join our master bath & family room in the 'completed' column. This time around we'll be tackling our dream bedroom.

As you all know by now, interior design is a true passion of mine! There's not a day that goes by where I don't think about new trends or redesigning my home, although I already love the way it looks now. In my spare time, you'll often catch me browsing the Easy Home Concepts website or flicking through a magazine for inspiration but one event which always catches my eye is the Interior Design show! Yes, you heard right! A show! The Interior Design Show is hands down our favourite of any of the design fairs or trade shows in Toronto every year. We've attended IDS the last 4 years running and though we haven't always talked about it here on the blog, if you've seen any of our past posts you know why we say it's so much more than just another home show.

Today kicks off our second Design Week and this time it's all about the exterior of the Dreamhouse. When we left off last time, we revealed the conceptual elevation drawings & first colour renderings of the exterior. Of course drawings are easy. The hard part is bringing the drawings to life to achieve the look we want within budget. The Inspiration: Going back to our look book, it was pretty clear to us that the we're drawn to houses that step outside the bounds of typical "builder beige" brick & aluminum siding. That's not to say that there aren't some beautiful

I have a confession to make. Well, a few actually. But the first is I've spent the better part of this week in a post-vacation funk. Does that ever happen to you? You spend a week in tropical bliss - away from the stresses of your daily life - only to return & have it all come crashing back down on you? Surely I'm not alone in this. Well today, I've made a decision to pull myself out of the funk. I'm back to blogging today because writing always makes me feel better & I'm choosing to let go of
